Follow the below steps to create the VERA service account in Jira. This service account will be utilized by VERA to make updates to Jira fields.

Step-by-step guide
- Click on Jira Administration icon in the top-right corner of the window (cog)
- Click on "IssuesUser management" in the drop-down box

On the toolbar on the left-hand side of the window, click on "Custom Fields"
Click on the "Add custom field" button in the top-right corner
Click on "Advanced" on the left-hand side of the window, then click on the option "Text Field (read only)". Click "Next"
Next to "Name", type in "Pending Tasks" and click the "Create" button
Now, select all of the screens where you want your Custom Field to be displayed. When finished, click "Update" at the bottom
Now repeat steps 4-7, only this time you're going to name the field "VERA Sync ID"
After adding the custom field, click on the pop up that appears to Perform a Re-Index
- Click "Create user"
- Fill in the following information in the "Create new user" form

- Check the Jira Software checkbox for "Application access"
- Click "Create user"

The email, full name, username and password for the VERA service account do not need to conform to specific values, but the username and password must align with the credentials of the VERA Service account defined in the VERA Synchronization Policy file. |
