VERA Vera uses policy files (in JSON format) to define certain configurations and business rules. In VERA 20222023.2, you can now manage policy files within the Administration UI. Add new policies, assign owners, view previous revisions, filter policy listing, update policies with comments. There are two types of policies that can be uploaded; Approval or Policy and Records Management Policy (RMP).

A policy type added for the first time is set as the default policy type.

Add an Approval Policy

  1. Open and log in to the VERA Administration site

  2. Display the Policy Management module

    1. On the VERA sidebar, select Policy Management

  3. Add a policy

    1. Select add policy the +Add Policy button

    2. Select the Approval policy type from the dropdown . The Add - the Create Approval Policy dialog box opens

    3. In the Name box, type Tutorial AP

    4. In the Owner box, click the down arrow and select current your username

    5. In the Description box, type the following description for the policy: This is the tutorial approval policy.

    6. Click Choose file File and select the VeraAPTutorial-part1.json from your device

    7. Click import Import

    8. The system will automatically give the policy a version 1.0

    6. Click Choose file File and select the VeraRMPTutorial-part2.json from your device

    7. Click import Import

    8. The system will automatically give the policy a version 1.0

Now that we uploaded the Approval Policy and Records Management Policy we can create a Policy Set with these policies and link to our domain Create Policy Sets and Link to Domain
