VERA uses policy files (in JSON format) to define certain configurations and business rules. In VERA 2022.2, you can now manage policy files within the Administration UI. Add new policies, assign owners, view previous revisions, filter policy listing, update policies with comments. There are two types of policies that can be uploaded; Approval or Records Management Policy (RMP).
A policy type added for the first time is set as the default policy type.

Add Policy
To add an Approval Policy:
Open and log in to the VERA Administration site
Display the Policy Management module
On the VERA sidebar, select Policy Management
Add a policy
Select add policy button
Select the Approval policy type from the dropdown. The Add Approval Policy dialog box opens
In the Name box, type Tutorial Approval Policy
In the Owner box, click the down arrow and select Vera-admin
In the Description box, type the following description for the policy: This is the first approval policy.
Click Choose file and select VeraAPTutorial.json from your device
Click save
To add an RMP:
Open and log in to the VERA Administration site
Display the Policy Management module
On the VERA sidebar, select Policy Management
Add a policy
Select add policy button
Select the RMP policy type from the dropdown. The Add RMP dialog box opens
In the Name box, type Tutorial RMP Policy
In the Owner box, click the down arrow and select Vera-admin
In the Description box, type the following description for the policy: This is the first RMP.
Click Choose file and select VeraRMPTutorial.json from your device
Click save
The system will automatically give the policy a version 1.0
View Policy Table
When you select policy management, the policy table is displayed. This table shows a list of policy names, revision, types, owners and actions (upload, download, delete)
To view policy table:
Make sure the Policy Management module is displayed
On the VERA sidebar, select Policy Management
To download SAP Approval Policy:
On the row of the policy name, select the download icon
Download starts automatically
To Upload SAP Approval Policy Revision:
On the row of the policy name, select the upload icon, the Import Policy Revision dialog box opens
In the Choose File box, select a file from your device
In the Revision Comments box, type the following revision comments: This is an updated approval policy.
Click Save
System automatically increments revision by 1
To delete SAP Approval Policy:
On the row of the policy name, select the delete icon, the Delete Policy dialog box opens
System will warn you if policy is being used in a policy set/domain, this will cause policy set to use default approval policy
Click Confirm
Policy and it’s revisions are deleted
View Policy Detail
Vera shows a high-level overview of the information entered when adding the policy. It also shows all the policy sets linked to the policy, and the number/details of revisions added to the policy.
To view SAP Approval policy detail:
Make sure the Policy Management module is displayed
On the VERA sidebar, select Policy Management
Display the policy detail
On the policy table, select SAP Approval Policy
To edit policy detail:
In the Name box, type SAP Application Approvals
In the Owner box, select tx3-admin
In the Description box, type the following description: This is an approval policy for SAP Applications
Click Save
You do not need to edit all 3 fields to save. You can edit any of the fields as desired
To set as default policy:
Click set as default policy button
To add Policy Revision:
Click add revision button, and Import Policy Revision dialog box opens
In the Choose File box, select a file from your device
In the Revision Comments box, type the following revision comments: This is an updated approval policy.
Click Save
System automatically increments revision by 1
To download previous revisions:
On the row of the previous revision, click the download icon
Download starts automatically
To view revision comments:
On the row of the previous revision, click show more, and revision comments modal opens
To view linked policy sets:
On the row of the policy set, click view
System redirects you to selected policy set detail page
