Tosca Remote Agents

All Test Set (or, "Execution List" in Tosca) execution takes place on Tosca Remote Agent machines by submitting requests to run a Tosca "Test Event". Agent machines are typically dedicated machines setup to run tests so that users are free to use their desktops for other tasks while tests run.

Important!
Setup one or more Tosca Remote Agent machines correctly prior to starting Test Set execution. This may involve multiple steps, depending on Test requirements and/or the System Under Test. Before running a Test Set in VERA, make sure the Execution List can run successfully on the intended Remote Agent machine(s) in Tosca, without using VERA.

The Tosca Agent requires an active Windows session. If your environment requires that the Agent Windows session abide by corporate screen-lock rules, configure the Tosca RDP service – this provides the ability to unlock a locked agent in order to run a Test Event.

If not using the Tosca RDP service, an active, unlocked Windows session must be running to run a Test Event. See the Tosca documentation and support site for more information on configuring the Tosca RDP service.

See the VERA-Tosca Installation Instructions for first time setup instructions for a Tosca Agent.

Note that when first using a new Windows machine as an Agent, there may be several Windows-based screens that need to be addressed before Tosca can run a Test on that machine. For example, answer first time Internet Explorer security prompts, make sure the logged in user can start Tosca Commander, etc.
