Follow the below steps to create the VERA Sync user. The VERA Sync user account will be utilized by VERA to make updates to Jira fields.

NOTE: This service account should not be used by any individual and the credentials should not be shared.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Click on Jira Administration icon in the top-right corner of the window (cog)

  2. Click on "User management" in the drop-down box

  3. Click "Create user"

  4. Fill in the following information in the "Create new user" form
    FieldValue*
    Email addressemail can vary (must be a valid email address)
    Full namefull name can vary
    Usernameusername can vary
    Passwordpassword can vary
  5. Check the Jira Software checkbox for "Application access"

  6. Click "Create user"


The email, full name, username and password for the VERA Sync User do not need to conform to specific values, but the username (question) must align with the username of the VERA Sync User defined in VERA.
