This guide will show you how to configure existing workflows to include VERA workflow states. The VERA workflow states begin at Routing for Approval; from here, it must transition either into the Approved or Rejected VERA states. Any statuses are allowed to exist before the Routing for Approval state as long as the VERA states are set up correctly.


This guide only sets up the skeleton of the VERA workflow.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Click on the Jira Settings option on the left hand side of the screen



  2. Click on Issues



  3. Click on Workflows



  4. Click on the Edit button under the Actions column on the Workflow that you wish to edit



  5. Under the Add New Step section on the bottom of the page, add the following steps:


    StepLinked Status
    Routing for ApprovalRouting for Approval
    RejectedRejected
    ApprovedApproved
  6. Create transitions from the Routing for Approval status to the Rejected and Approved status
