Vera 2022.3 Upgrade Tasks

We recommend following these pre-upgrade steps. They are not required for a successful upgrade, but they may help make the transition easier.

  1. Add all users to at least one domain. This will help when mapping users approval roles to domain roles.

  2. Add the following logging-settings.json file to the Configs folder on the Vera API Server:

Automated Upgrade Tasks

Vera 2022.3 changed the assignment of approval roles from the instance level to individual domains. Vera will automatically make the following updates when you upgrade to Vera 2022.3 to support this new feature.

  1. Vera will create a Default Domain and tag the domain as default domain. The created domain name will be Default unless that name is already in use then the default domain will be named Default (<mm-dd-yyyy>) (example: Default 12-15-2022).

  2. Vera will add two new domain roles: Domain Administrator and Domain Viewer.

  3. Vera will update current domain users with all of their approval role memberships defined in Vera per domain. Here is an example:

    1. jsmith role is Technical and Business and they are a member of the Quality System and LIMS domains.

    2. After migration jsmith is a member of the Technical and Business roles in the Quality System and LIMS domains.

  4. System roles will be migrated from the Role Membership field to System Roles field.

  • The Default Domain name and all attributes are editable. You cannot make another domain the default domain.

  • The System Administrator and Domain Administrator can modify domain roles after Vera 2022.3 upgrade.

  • We recommend adding all users and projects to a domain prior to the Vera 2022.3 upgrade.
