Known Agent Limitations

  • ToscaRemoteAgent.exe does not run as a service. It runs as a standard Windows executable and, therefore, requires an active Windows session, in order to run Tosca Test Events.
  • If you perform a Windows "Sign Out" operation without first performing a Stop & Exit operation on the Agent process, Tosca will think it still has an agent running on that machine and unpredictable behavior will occur when trying remotely execute Test Events. **** First Stop & Exit the ToscaDistributionAgent process (right-click the icon in the system tray), before signing out of Windows **** This will let Tosca know that the agent no longer exists. As discussed earlier, if the Tosca RDP service is running correctly, a session should always be active and this should not be an issue.
  • If, after a Tosca "Refresh Agents" operation runs against the Configurations object, multiple entries appear for the same machine, this needs to be addressed or the Test Event may not start as expected. One way to resolve is to Stop & Exit the current agent session and have the Admin restart the Tosca Distribution Server (aka DEX)
  • If viewing the Agent machine in an RDP session during a Test run, do NOT minimize the Window, as this will prevent screen shots from executing properly, usually resulting in an "Invalid Handle" error.
