Automatic Locking of Users
This feature is new as of 2023.3 and will not contain data from logins prior to 2023.3. Users will have Never as their Last Success until they login for the first time after upgrade.
Vera will automatically lock out users for a configurable time period (default 10 minutes) when multiple unsuccessful login attempts are recorded (default is 5 failed attempts). Once the lockout period has passed, the user account will be automatically unlocked. You can unlock account sooner by following these instructions: Manually Unlock a Locked User
To change the default number of failed logins or the lockout period, see the Supported Environment Variables page.
The following user login information is now available in the user management table:
Login Information | Description |
---|---|
Number of Failed Logins | This is the number of times a user account login has failed since the last successful login. This number is reset to 0 when the user logs in successfully. Note: This only appears when there has been at least 1 failed attempts since the last successful login. |
Last Success | This is the date and time (GMT) of the last time the user logged in successfully. This may say Never if the user has never logged in since upgrading to 2023.3. |
Locked At | This is the date and time (GMT) that the user account was locked due to failed login attempts. The Lockout Period can be added to this time to determine when the automatic unlock will occur. Note: This only appears when the user is locked out. |
