Create a qTest project with Vera Integration

Create a new qTest project and setup the integration with Vera

  1. Create project

  2. Enable vera integration

  3. Add qTest users to project

Create Project

  1. Open and Log in to qTest

  2. Click your username at the top right

  3. Click Administration from the dropdown

  4. Click the Projects tab and then the Add new project button

  5. In the Project Name box, type: Vera Tutorial

  6. Click Add to save changes

Note the newly added project ID, example 130611

Enable Vera Integration

  1. Click the nine box button

  2. And select Manager from the dropdown

  3. In the top left off the qTest Window, select the Vera Tutorial project from the project drop down list.

  4. Click the gear icon at the top right and select Integration Settings from the dropdown

  5. At the top left, select VERA from the list of external systems

  6. In the VERA URL field, type https://<qtest_route_actions_server_url>/api/route_action (example: https://qtest-routeactions.mycompany.com/api/route-action)

  7. Check the Pre Execution Approval (for Manual Test Cases) box

  8. Check the Post Execution Approval (for Manual Test Runs) box

  9. Toggle the activation status to ON

  10. Click the Save button

A green “Save connection successfully.” message will be displayed at the top of the configuration page. If a red message is displayed, check the VERA URL entered to ensure that it is correct and accessible from the qTest server.

Find your service account for qTest - Vera connection

  1. Open and log in to Vera Administration

  2. Navigate to Connections under Settings

  3. Select qTest connection from the list

  4. Note the service account name

Add Vera Service Account to qTest Project

  1. Open and log in to qTest

  2. Click the nine box button

  3. And select Manager from the dropdown

  4. Select the Vera Tutorial project

  5. Click the gear icon at the top right and select User Management from the dropdown

  6. Click the plus button (+) to add project users

  7. Find and select the service account noted above

  8. Select Project Admin user profile and add the service account to the Vera Tutorial project
